Scinax sp
—
unidentified species
When we checked into our room at this lodge, we noticed that the bathroom featured a sign advising us that we might be sharing said bathroom with the local frogs. And indeed a few hours later this fine fellow adorned the wall. The sign included a QR code linked to a web page about Scinax hayii, but that species seems to be found only along part of Brazil's east coast, far from the Pantanal. It definitely looks like a Scinax though, and it doesn't look like the Scinax acuminatus that we found nearby. Maybe S. fuscovarius? Its lack of interesting pattern or texture isn't helping its identification prospects.
